Our Beliefs

What We Believe

God has called us together to be a beacon of Christ’s Light in Dodge City and around the globe, to proclaim Good News of grace to a broken and burned out world, and to walk with each other in love through every suffering and joy of life. (Matthew 5:14-16, Romans 12:9-18)

We teach, baptize, praise, and pray in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 28:18-20)

We believe that God seeks out the lost and confused, has the power to transform lives, to create new beginnings, and gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to become children of God. We are a sanctuary of peace and hope in the midst of a broken world and culture.  (John 1:12, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

We believe that there is only one race- the human race- and we all share in common human brokenness, sin, and our need for a Savior. (Romans 3:22-23)

We believe that we cannot save our own souls, salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, and there is no other name given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

We believe that when Jesus died on the cross, in our place, He paid the penalty for our sins.  Those who believe and follow Him have the promise of heaven and eternal life, but those who reject God’s free gift of love and grace in Him remain separated from God.  (John 3:16)

We believe we are called to live good and moral lives, to love and help others, to be good neighbors and friends to strangers, and to make a difference in the world. (John 13:34-35)

We believe that families are the crucible of God’s creation.  Children are a heritage and gift from God.  Husbands and wives are joined together in Holy Christian Matrimony and in complementarity they model with each other the love and forgiveness that God pours into our lives through Jesus.  We believe we are called to raise up our children in faith together, so that they have good lives, are good to others, and live lives worthy of their faith in Jesus. (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 5:21-28, Matthew 19:4-6)
